Chateau de Pitray and Lostende Tours Wine Tours Vacations and Trips

Guests enjoy a meal at the Chateau de Pitray.

Try to imagine living and dining in a Chateau because this is what you will be doing for a week.  All of the meals except for 4 dinners and 3 lunches will be at the Chateau de Pitray - please note that I will make an addendum of any dietary requests.  I think that the reflections from previous guests capture the delight of dinning at Pitray:

  • "And of course, we must mention the Chateau meals and vin!  The provided breakfasts, lunches, and suppers were comprehensive in variety and a gourmets' delight, especially when accompanied with Pitray's outstanding vintage selections.  Although the suppers at the various village restaurants were enjoyable, we increasingly came to anticipate with desire the Chateau suppers more and more throughout the stay."

  • "The result was a feast of dining and relaxing in a magnificent chateau winery, enjoying some incredible scenery and history, and making new friends."

  • "And, yes, the food.  At dinner, Allan’s aunt would ring the little bell and another amazing course would arrive – pheasant, homemade desserts, pates and mousses, generous offerings of cheese from all over France.  Fresh fruit and of course, wine.  Allan’s uncle is a wine expert and loves to share his knowledge as a grower, producer, and marketer of fine Bordeaux reds."

The dinners and lunches hosted at the Chateau will also be prepared by the Pitray chef and will include wine from the Chateau.  Everyone will sit together at the dinning room table, or we will dine outside if the weather is beautiful.  Prior to the dinners there will be cocktails served on the terrace with the setting sun.  The menus have yet to be determined, but again nothing will be spared.

Lunch out at a local restaurant nestled amongst the vineyards of St. Emilion

The remaining 4 dinners will be enjoyed at restaurants in the towns near by, principally at St. Emilion which is host to dozens of restaurants.  In this way you can dine privately away from the group with whomever you chose.  I will give you recommendations and information for different restaurants.  Collectively, as a group, we will go to St. Emilion (e.g.) and fan out to our restaurants of choice.  We will rendezvous at a predetermined time to return to the chateau.  You will be responsible for the costs of these meals.
