Chateau de Pitray
This trip is born from a
rich local knowledge of Bordeaux wines and
the Bordeaux region. This part of France has
been home to my family for generations, stretching
back hundreds of
years. I have many relatives who live in this area
today, and many who make their living in
the wine industry. My goal is to leverage my
connections and provide
you with a unique and personal experience of the
region, its history, and the Bordeaux wine industry,
particularly Saint Emilion. The vacation will
be unique and personal because you will stay at the
Chateau de Pitray, hosted by my aunt and uncle,
Count and Countess de Boigne. It will also
benefit from the personal and business relationships
that many of my relatives - who either grow grapes
and make wine or sell and distribute it - have in
the wine industry. We will use Chateau de
Pitray as a base to examine in detail the grape
growing and wine making process, and also learn the
fundamentals of wine tasting. From Pitray we
will venture out into the region to visit other
prestigious vineyards and taste their wines. |
